WHY DO BOWLERS USE PLASTIC BOWLING BALLS FOR SPARES?

Pro bowlers use plastic bowling balls over traditional ones. Plastic balls allow professional bowlers to play well regardless of their lane. You don’t need to worry about oil absorbing from different lanes. Plastic balls won’t see any oil.

This feature allows a bowling ball to hit the pins exactly as you intended. The ride also doesn’t depend upon how much oil is on the track. If you are using a performance spare bowling ball, you will need to adjust your ball to accommodate the lane patterns.

Bowling is a sport that leaves little room for error. You must be exact with every shot. You have a better chance of hitting the pins in one shot with a plastic ball. They are also easily available in a variety of colors and patterns so you can be comfortable on the field. They can be picked by players according to their preferences and make it much easier to hit the pins than regular bowling balls.

WHAT HEAVY SHOULD A SPARE BALL WEIGHT?

One formula for the spare ball is not going to work for everyone. It all depends on each individual. It is simple to find a comfortable bowling ball, either plastic or polyester. When you’re on the track, it should be in your hands.

You should have greater control over the ball and a clearer aim. You should feel comfortable with your ball in your hands so you can aim comfortably.

If you need to know the weight of the spare ball, try it with the main ball. Or one or two pounds less. You will be able to throw with more accuracy and better control.

CONCLUSION

Simply put, the best spare should be able to score all of your goals. The perfect balance of accuracy and durability should ensure that your move is smooth.

These ten spares bowling balls are made by the top brands on the market. To help you make your decision, you can refer to the reviews and use the comparison chart. We hope this article helps you choose the best spare bowling balls.

What to Look for in a Spare Ball

A good spare ball will likely be made of plastic/polyester and have a durable cover stock built to last. A bowling ball cover stock with a porous surface will not work. A good spare ball will have a solid overall composition that doesn’t absorb oil. It can be used to just ride straight to your spare pin target.

A spare ball should be a proper weight. Sometimes it can even be a pound or less than your regular “strike bowling” ball.

A great spare bowling ball doesn’t need to cost a lot. However, it is important to choose a reliable brand such as Storm or Brunswick that can withstand repeated use without cracking or chipping. No matter your level of expertise, you’ll need a lot more spare pickups. The ball will be your best friend and last resort.

Let’s take a look at some of the top spare bowling balls currently on the market.

F.A.Q. Spare Bowling Balls

  • What bowling ball should I use for spares?

One or more strike balls and one spare ball. One spare ball and a “strikeball”. This is the ball you would throw on your first throw. If that doesn’t happen, grab your spare ball.

  • What are spare balls made of?

Different types of coverstock materials can be used to cover bowling balls. Most commonly, spare bowling balls are covered with plastic or Polyester. It is harder and more porous than other coverstocks, so it causes less friction on the bowling lanes and makes it easier to control, and prevents you from hooking or curving.
